Descripció
Gallbladder mucocele with hepatic macronodular cirrhosis. Dilated gallbladder with accumulated mucoid secretion. Unknown etiology, may be related to decreased motility, bile composition and/or stasis. Shetland Sheepdogs are considered to be predisposed to gallbladder mucoceles and there might be an association with an insertion (G) mutation in exon 12 of canine ABCB4 gene. In this case, both lesions are likely related, perhaps by altered bile circulation due to stenosis of bile ducts or choledocus.
